Shawn Cody is a multi-award-winning actor, writer, singer and songwriter, who has worked with artists from Hollywood, Broadway and beyond. He is best known as the creator and co-star of the award-winning musical fantasy, The Water Dream, which starred Anthony Rapp (Rent, Dazed and Confused, Star Trek) and J. Robert Spencer (Jersey Boys, Next to Normal), along with an all star cast from Broadway, film, and television.
Acting: He originated the role of Moppet, The Wandering Musician, in his musical fantasy, The Water Dream (dir. Jim True-Frost, August: Osage County, The Wire, Cameron Crowe’s Singles), a high profile Special Event concert for the 10th Anniversary Season of the New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF) at the Signature Center on 42nd Street in New York City, considered the “Sundance of Broadway”. He played the Title Role in Pericles and the Music of the Spheres (written and directed by Bill Barclay, Shakespeare’s Globe, London) with the renowned Shakespeare & Company (Shake & Co). He played Medvedenko in the acclaimed production of Chekhov’s The Seagull (dir. international film director Jànos Szàsz) with the American Repertory Theater (The A.R.T. at Harvard University). He played Oblomov as a Boy in Oblomov with the Moscow Art Theater American Studio (MXAT) in Russia.
